FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is PDLC and how does it work?

PDLC stands for Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals. PDLC film contains liquid crystal droplets suspended in a polymer matrix. When powered, the crystals align to become transparent; when off, they scatter light for privacy. It’s like magic glass—switchable with a button, remote, or even a smartphone app.

2. What’s the difference between PDLC and DDLC?

PDLC is our standard white-on-clear film. DDLC is our advanced color version - it incorporates dye molecules, so you can choose colors like blue, grey, or even custom shades. It’s perfect for branding or matching interior designs while still offering excellent shading.

3. Can your film be used outdoors?

Yes, especially our DDLC and automotive-grade films. They are UV-resistant, weatherproof, and operate in extreme temperatures from -30°C to 90°C. They’re ideal for curtain walls, sunrooms, balconies, and car canopies.

4. How durable is the film?

Our films undergo rigorous testing to ensure no yellowing or peeling. They have a lifespan of over 80,000 hours, which is about 10+ years of continuous use.

5. Is installation difficult?

Not at all. We offer adhesive film for retrofitting with a peel-and-stick layer. No special tools needed. We also provide detailed guides and can recommend certified installers.

6. Can I get custom patterns or logos?

Absolutely. We specialize in custom designs - logos, geometric patterns, landscapes, even dynamic displays using laser etching. It’s a fantastic way to enhance brand visibility in commercial spaces.

7. How do Smart Blinds compare to traditional blinds?

Smart Blinds are silent, maintenance-free, and save space. They switch instantly with no moving parts to wear out. Plus, they can be integrated seamlessly with smart home systems for automated light control.

8. Do PDLC films use a lot of power?

Power consumption is minimal, about 5–10W per square meter. Our films run on low-voltage AC power (typically 36–48V). We supply compatible transformers, remotes, and switches.

9. Can the film be used in vehicles?

Yes, we have an automotive-grade film specifically for cars, EVs, and even high-speed trains. It’s heat-resistant, shatterproof, and provides instant privacy for sunroofs and windows while reducing interior heat.

10. Is it safe for bathrooms and wet areas?

Yes, our films are moisture-resistant and can be used in bathrooms, spas, and swimming pool enclosures. The adhesive and laminated versions both provide a sealed, waterproof barrier when properly installed.

11. Do you offer LED films?

We can offer custom films with embedded LEDs. When powered, they sparkle like stars without affecting transparency. This adds a special effect perfect for decorative partitions or ceilings, adding ambiance without obstruction.

13. Do you offer samples?

Yes, we provide small samples of our standard films. For custom designs, we can create a mock-up or digital preview. Sampling helps you evaluate clarity, haze, and color before committing.
